Gillibrand is new NY Senator

Filed under: Democrats | Politics — by Will Kirkland @ 8:22 am

“Gov. David Paterson has picked Democratic U.S. Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand to fill New York’s vacant U.S. Senate seat, an aide to the governor said early Friday, a day after Caroline Kennedy abruptly withdrew from consideration.

Gillibrand, a second-term lawmaker from upstate New York, will be named to fill the seat vacated when Hillary Rodham Clinton resigned to become secretary of state in the Obama administration, the aide said, speaking on condition of anonymity because an announcement hadn’t been made. It was scheduled for later Friday.”

Dear Senator Gillibrand…I am a 71 yr. old resident of NYS and have watched our gov’t go downhill with the currant Senators & Congress. It is time someone stood up for the people. Please vote against the stimulus pkg. and against that fellow who is running for the IRA position. He appears to be of poor moral character and tried to get away from paying his own taxes. He knows the law and chooses to disregard it. We are retired and on a limited income and had to make 4 payments of $150 towards estimated taxes…why should we? Also this guy also worked with Paulsen. He should know where all the money went so far. He cannot be trusted. No one is asking the important questions but is allowing our gov’t to become more corrupt. I do hope you will take a stand on many of these issues that are bad for the citizens of this country….including the decisions Obama is currently making. He is hiring lobbist and is not going along with transparency. Is he setting us up for terrorists to attack our country successfully? Thank you for your time. Do hope you will and can make a difference.
