Afghanistan: More Civilian Deaths

Filed under: FrontPage | Afghanistan — by Bob Zuber @ 5:33 pm

Al Jazeera is reporting on the aftermath of what has been called ‘indiscriminate shooting’ by US forces that resulted in as many as 16 civilian deaths: “Thousands of Afghans protested at the scene of the killings, blocking the main road between the Afghan capital, Kabul, and the Pakistan border and throwing rocks at police.

Many chanted: “Death to America! Death to Karzai!” in a reference to the Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president.”

In Dante’s Hell those guilty of the sin of cupidity are in the ninth circle, frozen in the Lake of Ice. Having cared for nothing but self in life, they are encased in icy Self for eternity. By making people focus only on oneself in this way, Satan and his followers turn their eyes away from the harmony of love that unites all creatures.
