Anti-Alito Filibuster Defeated
So it goes. Those who voted against cloture should be thanked and then it should be said: more organizing was in order. You have known at least as long as the Federalist Society that this was coming down the tracks. They were prepared. You were not. Take it as a lesson and let’s move on.
A Democratic filibuster of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito — led by Massachusetts Democratic Sens. John Kerry and Edward M. Kennedy — was defeated 72-25 Monday, all but assuring Alito’s appointment to the high court.

Not so fast, buddy. Take it as a lesson and get rid of all the weaklings, on all sides of the fence, oops, or should I say aisle. I want to be represented by people who are passionate in the protection of my civil rights, my naturally given liberties, and who help my community, not suck it dry in defense of a criminal chief executive in the Whitehouse. Who wants a politician, or a parent, or a friend who is only “moderately” protecting my rights.
Moderates don’t win Superbowls, baby!
So there’s no movin’ on. When it comes to civil rights and our liberties, you use ‘em or lose ‘em.
