Rosa didn’t just decide to stay seated on that bus that day; she had examples, and she had training — as well as her courage. Among other events in her life which prepared her was a workshop at the Highlander Center in Tennessee, in 1955. She revisited again 100 days into the 381 day boycott of the Montgomery bus system.
